So just some common sense that we didnt have when purchasing this being that we are new parents. I am not saying this is a bad product or unsafe seat. Its a great seat, BUT please take careful considering of the following which we missed:
This car seat, as well as ALL the SnugRide series are only rated for 5 – 22 pounds, Max of 29 inches and under the age of 1.
The SnugRide 32 is rated for 5 – 32 pounds and under the age of 1.
So now, our baby is 8 months old, 20 pounds and 29 inches! He is too big for the snugride!!!!! He is not old enough to legally ride in a forward facing car seat! I have to buy the SnugRide 32 now!!!!! HE WILL ONLY BE IN THIS NEW CAR SEAT FOR 4 MONTHS!!!!
I feel totally misled by the company. They are forcing me to buy another car seat that will really only last 4 to 6 months. This is a total waste of money. Had I known this, I would have just spent the money on the SungRide 32 and had an easy transition to the nautilius 3 in 1.
Oh and also, The base on the SnugRide is totally different than the one on the SnugRide 32. So you need to purchase a new base, or multiple bases if you have more than one car….
On this alone I give this seat one star! Get the SnugRide 32 and dont waste money on a seat that cannot support your child untill they need a forward facing seat.

The baby is coming in 2 months, so we did not have chance yet to try out our new car seat. But shipping was very fast and product looks great!

I used an earlier version of this Car Seat and loved it. I did hate that my son got too tall to continue the use of this carseat untill he turned one. I will by an updated one because of the new consumer reports for my next child.

I just bought this for my first baby so I don’t have much to compare it to. Both of our vehicles have the latch system (04 Mitsubishi Outlander and 04 Honda Accord) and it was pretty easy to install, didn’t take my husband more than 10 or so minutes to figure it out. We have the bases in both cars in the middle back seat. On the Honda there is a bump in the middle and I think because of that the base actually does move side to side when turning. It seems very stable and safe in the Outlander though. It is, however very difficult to carry. It is heavy and plain awkward shaped. Also, my son is 4 months, 28 ” and I’m already going to have to buy a convertible since this seat is only up to 29″ (although he’s above 100th percentile in height so this problem wouldn’t affect everyone). Probably also because of his height , his head would slouch over due to the angle of the seat when he fell asleep (of course you don’t know what size baby you’ll have until he’s born!) but I wouldn’t recommend it for longer or heavier babies for that reason. I also have the stroller that goes with it and that is very easy and convenient to use.
